Contains a short memoir describing Carson's military training and combat action in the European Theater. Discusses his fighting in the Battle of the Ardennes, his contraction of pneumonia while breaking through the Siegfried Line, and his treatment in an Allied military hospital. Also mentions heavy fighting he experienced in Zietz, Germany as a machine gunner. Discusses his work as a military mechanic and transport driver after the war's end and prior to his discharge. Also includes Carson's discharge papers. Photographs show Carson in full military dress and with his six brothers, all of whom simultaneously served in the armed forces and returned home alive.
